Theology
Under Construction (because our theology will not be finished until Christ returns)
There’s been a lot of question as to my theology of late. Because of this, I’ve decided to lay out those things which I wholly affirm. These will be laid out on the basis of creed/confession, theological distinctives, and place in the American church.
I confess…
Believing these to be the authentic definition of my Christian faith, I acknowledge and affirm them as authoritative and representative of the essential Orthodoxy of the Christian faith. Beyond these, I affirm the following as being my own tradition and distinctives:
- Charismatic - I believe in the full use and activity of the Holy Spirit in the Church today in the process of regeneration, sanctification, and empowering for the ministry of Christ to the world.
- Noachide -I am a Gentile who believes in the truth, continuity, and relevance of Torah, and I fully acknowledge its continued application to the Jews. As a Noachide, I also recognize that it is Jews, not Gentiles, who are bound to the Ten Commandments, while Gentiles answer to the Seven Laws of Noah.
- Christian Noachide - I believe that Jesus (Yeshua) is the promised Messiah of Israel, while continuing to recognize, respect, and analyze Jewish wisdom and lore, particularly with respect to the Scriptures and understanding the Torah.
- Emerging - I reject the intellectual and political idolatry that has become so prevalent in the American/European churches today. Instead, I seek to be authentic, missional, and intentionally pursuing and living the revelation of truth according to the clear teachings of Scripture.
- Essentially Reformed - I affirm the essential aspects of Reformed theology in regards to the total depravity of man’s nature, the sovereign hand of God in Creation, the univeral-limited nature of Christ’s atonement, God’s effectual calling, and the preserving work and power of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer.
Having affirmed these, I now declare my commitment to the unity of the Body of Christ, the vitality of declaring and living the Gospel of Christ together, and serving with the example and model of my Master, Jesus Christ, in view.
