Eco-Redemption?

Posted by David Ketter on July 26, 2006

The Bishop of London refused to back down on his statement that choosing certain types of transportation, is, in fact, a “symptom of sin.”  The Bishop, the Rt. Reverend Richard Chartres, who is a ranking member of the Church of England, makes these statements on the basis of the denomination’s stance on being environmentally cautious.  While I agree with the Church of England that we are to be good stewards of the world that God has given us, how far that obligation takes us is a matter of debate and it is all too clear that the Bishop has gone too far:

Sanhedrin Backs Lebanon-Israel War

Posted by David Ketter on July 24, 2006

The nascent Sanhedrin has issued a statement, dated July 18, 2006 (Tamuz 22, 5766), supporting the military call-up of reserve forces in Israel.  This statement was issued by the Special Court (beit din) for Matters Concerning The Nation and State, a sub-court of the Sanhedrin.  It is headed by Rabbi Yisrael Ariel, a renowned Torah scholar and the head of the Temple Institute.  Here is a portion of the “special judgment” of the court:

The Fight For Life Taken to a Whole New Level

Posted by David Ketter on July 22, 2006

HT: The Rebelution and Spunky Homeschool

Since the Roe v. Wade decision, the pro-life movement has primarily centered on the topic of abortion. However, in recent years, the fight for life has extended to such bounds as to include Terri Schiavo’s right to life. This dogged fight - which ended in tragedy - has mobilized many inactive pro-life supporters to enage the pro-death factions on many sides of the issue. Now, a new issue has presented itself: the right of one young man to reject medical treatments that could possible kill him.

The Coming War: Current Events Leading Up to It?

Posted by David Ketter on July 20, 2006

According to Forbes.com, Israel has hinted at invading portions of Lebanon. On a political front, this is significant in taking the war to a whole new level. Biblically, however, it is land that was deeded to Israel by God Himself.

Russia, however, has recently entangled itself as the story reports:

Russia sharply criticized Israel over its onslaught against Lebanon, now in its ninth day, sparked when Hezbollah militants captured two Israeli soldiers. The Russian Foreign Ministry said Israel’s actions have gone “far beyond the boundaries of an anti-terrorist operation” and repeating calls for an immediate cease-fire.

With the elimination of Hezbollah from active participation in the Middle-Eastern wars, Israel must now only face Hamas and eliminate their leadership before a secure peace can be achieved. But Russia will not be so appeased.

Anecdotes of the Founders

Posted by David Ketter on July 18, 2006

“The law established by the Creator extends over the whole globe, is everywhere and at all times binding upon mankind. [...] [This] is the law of God by which he makes his wa know to man and is paramount to all human control.” -Rufus King, signer of the Declaration of Independence.

“All of us, who were engaged in the struggle[for independence], must have observed frequent instances of a superintending Providence in our favor.  And have we now forgotten that powerful friend?  Or do we imagine we no longer need its assistance?  I have lived, sire, a long time; and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this Truth, that God governs in the affairs of men.” -Benjamin Franklin, delegate to the Constitutional Convention

Catholic Church Makes Revival Efforts

Posted by David Ketter on July 18, 2006

According to a recent story out of the Washington Post, the Roman Catholic Church - through the growing missions work of the Archdiocese of Krakow - is moving toward the “rechristianization of Europe.” This is not, as it was in medieval times, a political Christianization or en masse conversion of tribes and nations. Rather, through the ordination of ministers and their call to other nations stretching from South America to the Far East, they are making attempts to share the love of Christ to those who do not know it and encourage the faith of those who do.

Rick Warren: Antichrist?

Posted by David Ketter on July 18, 2006

Note: This post can also be found at Agent Tim Online.

The famous battle between Rick Warren and the Purpose-Driven “PEACE” Corps and extreme “temple police” like Ingrid Schlueter and the Dombrowski’s is coming to a new front: that of eschatology, or the study of the End Times.  In some posts, Ingrid Schlueter, in referring to Pastor Warren’s trip to North Korea, has either alluded to or made direct reference to a “possibility” that Rick Warren may indeed be the long-dreaded antichrist.

The Ark of Noah Found?

Posted by David Ketter on July 4, 2006

One website/story published by the Christian Worldview Network and written by Worldview Weekend President Brannon Howse claims that Bob Cornuke and a team of 13 others - including apologist Josh McDowell - returned from Iran recently claiming they had found what could very well be the Ark of Noah.  Read the rest of this entry »

Places to Shop

Posted by David Ketter on May 4, 2006

This is outside my ordinary stream of posting, but after some browsing, I figured I would post this. A website called Buy Blue has been encouraging "progressive" people to boycott businesses that regularly contribute to Republican campaigns…and they say WE are partisan. Anyways, here are the businesses that you want to support in the future:

  • Dell Computers
  • Walmart (it pains me to actually do this, but oh well)
  • Wendy's
  • Outback Steak House
  • Dominos Pizza
  • Red Lobster
  • Olive Garden
  • Eckerd
  • CVS
  • Walgreens
  • Curves for women health clubs
  • GE
  • Exxon/Mobil

These businesses cover all the basic areas of life - fuel (Exxon/Mobil), appliances (GE), health (Eckerd, CVS, Walgreens, Curves), food (Wendy's, Outback, Dominos, Red Lobster, Olive Garden), and anything else (Walmart). If nothing else, Republicans at least no how to eat good.

Praise GOD!

Posted by David Ketter on March 26, 2006

Hallelu-Yah! (Hebrew for Praise Yah, by the way).

According to the Associated Press, the case against Afghani Abdul Rahman, will be dropped by the court on the basis that there is a distinct lack of evidence:

Abdul Wakil Omeri, a spokesman for the Supreme Court, confirmed that the case had been dismissed because of “problems with the prosecutors’ evidence.”

Some cite political pressure as being the main reason the case was dropped - given that President Hamid Karzai was backed by the United States in his candidacy and the international community’s constant overtures on Rahman’s behalf. Some also credit Rahman’s family - some of which had stated he has “mental problems.” For me, I’d have to say that it is the prayers of the saints - God alone knows how many were praying for this man’s sake and - beyond hope - he pulled him from the claws of death. I pray that Mr. Rahman will be empowered to minister to his people who - although so ready to tear him to pieces - are in desperate need of His salvation.

Hallelu-Yah!

Thanks to Jacqui of unconformed for the tip!
