A Rebelutionary on a Reformission…

Catholic Church Makes Revival Efforts

Posted by David Ketter on July 18, 2006

According to a recent story out of the Washington Post, the Roman Catholic Church – through the growing missions work of the Archdiocese of Krakow – is moving toward the “rechristianization of Europe.” This is not, as it was in medieval times, a political Christianization or en masse conversion of tribes and nations. Rather, through the ordination of ministers and their call to other nations stretching from South America to the Far East, they are making attempts to share the love of Christ to those who do not know it and encourage the faith of those who do.

Their efforts have been recognized by many of the seminary leaders in the Church of Poland, even garnering recognition from Pope Benedicy XVI, who noted that this may just be a “special calling” for the Polish church in these times where “clergy are scarce.” Since the days of the Enlightenment, active participation in the church – Catholic or Protestant – has diminished significantly. Since the Second Council of the Vatican in the middle of the 20th century, however, the evangelistic efforts of the Roman Catholic Church have increased dramatically. In many instances, this has been aided by the “charismatic renewal” of many Catholic parishes in the United States and Canada.

Many Christians may be perturbed at the Vatican’s new initiative to convert sinners to the grace of Christ. Citing historical record (which can be negative) and “corrupt” theology, they continue to support the hateful idea that Rome is “the synagogue of Satan.” Ray Comfort, who along with Kirk Cameron, leads the Way of the Master ministry has stated quite often (when speaking about those who do not have correct theology prior to conversion), that his call is to bring their souls to the grace of Christ and let the Master open their eyes to true doctrine – be it concerning Himself or another.

I am very encouraged at the revival efforts being made in so many diverse denominations. This generation that is rising up has such a call to ministry – unparalleled in interest in the history of man. God is working in the Body to bring a harvest that shall glorify His Name – a final warning and testimony to His creation that there is a God in heaven and He is attentive to the cry of His servants: “Revive us, Lord!”

Amen, Come Lord Jesus.

  1. Yes it does. And actually, Marshall Sherman was the Union infantry man that captured the Confederate flag at the Battle of Gettysburg.

    So there. ;-)

    Amen brother.

    Glory be to the Father,
    and to the Son,
    and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning,
is now and ever shall be,
    world without end. Amen.

i am also concerned with this revival effort made by the catholic church. it is because of the fact that the catholic church DOES NOT really teach that Jesus is the ONLY way, the truth and the light; that He is the ONLY mediator between God and men; that only Jesus deserves the title Holy Father and not some guy wearing robes. Jesus ALONE deserves all our love, respect, prayers, and devotion.

if the catholic church worships the Jesus that cannot be portrayed by any means (in pictures or in statues for He is so majestic), the Jesus that is the ONE AND ONLY head of the church, the Jesus who ALONE SAVES all men, then i will be glad for that church.
